Meet “Bullet”, one of the earliest Airstreams Liners ever made and among the oldest known to exist!

She is Serial Number 1070, manufactured November 1947.

Airstream began post war production in early 1947 at their LAX facility. In early 1948, Airstream moved production from LAX to N. Main St in LA. She is 22’ from rear to hitch and weighs approximately 1700 lbs. My aunt and uncle acquired it around 1996. Where and how are unknown as they have since passed. They restored it at some point in the 90's. There are no records of any type. I bought it from their estate in 2020. It has an Oregon registration sticker on it from 1972. Other than that, I don't have any other details on the history.

We do camp in her. My intent was to restore her, but as my family grew bigger The Bullet hasn’t so I’m looking to sell her.

She has all her original appliances and wardrobe. I’ve never attempted to use the appliances or water, so I don’t know what is currently functional. Electricity was introduced to it at some point. Never was equipped with a toilet, air conditioning, or heat. It is road worthy and has 15" wheels. You can see from the photos there are dents and scratches on the exterior. The bottom bi-fold window is missing on the rear driver side window. There appears to be some water damage to the floors by the front passenger side window. The front storage cabinets are a little warped. I have not looked at the subfloor. It has a ton of potential if someone out there has the time and attention this beautiful piece of Americana deserves!
