This is an Ohio built 1954 Cruiser 26′, rebuilt in 2021 from the frame up. It has all the amenities of a modern Airstream with the classic look of the 1954 thirteen panel. This was a shell off rebuild with a new frame, torsion axles, and brakes. The frame was modified from a 2020 Airstream Flying Cloud which was a salvage Airstream. It has new Dexter axles, and brakes. The tires are Goodyear Endurance from the 2020 Airstream, mounted on steel wheels, with vintage chrome baby moon hubcaps. It has a 40 gallon fresh water, 40 gallon black holding tank, and two gray water tanks; 40 gallon and 30 gallon.The back end cap is original, And the rest of the exterior panels are new, and the factory finish. Each of the new panels were sealed with Trempro caulk. The door was rebuilt with new aluminum panels and the original frame, and new seals installed. The windows were removed, cleaned, and new seals and tempered glass were installed. We installed the Zip Dee awnings and stabilizer jacks from the 2020 Airstream. The main awning has the led rope lighting. The running lights are all led lights, as are all the interior lights. The front Jack and aluminum propane tanks are polished aluminum. The propane regulator and rubber gas lines are from the 2020 Airstream. The shell is insulated with fiberglass insulation. All the wiring is new. The interior aluminum walls are .032 aluminum, primered, and finished with two coats of Multispec paint. The second coat was brushed to give the streaked look. The custom cabinets are ash, and ash plywood, and have 2″ radius rounded corners. The bed has gas struts to assist in accessing the storage underneath. All the cabinet hardware is period correct including the aluminum trim. The laminate tops have a vintage look. The shower is constructed from the .040 exterior aluminum salvaged from the 2020 Airstream. All the lighting is led, and most are dimmable. The floor is Armstrong vinyl composition tile cut down to a 9 size for a more vintage look. The appliances are all from the 2020 Airstream and tested before installation. New under counter water filter, with separate faucet. The Baraldi vent hood is concealed in a more period correct rounded exterior. The vent hood is vented through the wall with a stainless exterior vent cover. The stove is the original stove from the 1954. We installed a vintage look microwave in the cabinet above the refrigerator. The TV, DVD player, and radio are concealed behind the drop down doors by the front door. The tv antenna is a new King antenna. We have the See Level tank monitor from the 2020 Airstream The original overhead cabinets have new frp translucent panels, and are lighted inside. We have a new stainless 30 amp Smart plug inlet for shore power. 320 watts of solar panels are mounted on the roof, and have three 109 amp hour lead acid batteries for storage. The solar charger and battery monitor are TriMetric. There is a 2000 watt modified sine wave Magnum inverter, operated with a remote, and a remote battery switch. The inverter operates the kitchen, front and bath outlets. The air conditioner / heat pump, and furnace are the Dometic units from the 2020. There are two fantastic fans, the front one has the rain sensor. The plumbing is all new pex plumbing with brass elbows and tee connectors. The water pump, toilet, 3 Moen faucets, and bathroom sink are from the 2020, and the kitchen sink is original. The water heater is gas and electric with the remote control, and is from the 2020. The gas detector, carbon monoxide, and smoke detectors are from the 2020. This Airstream was appraised by Polk and Associates at $166,000, and the 41 page appraisal is available on request.
