Beautifully restored 24′ vintage 1959 Airstream
Stunning vintage Airstream is completely equipped to let you live large in a showstopping space. Plenty of light. Plenty of storage. Plenty of possibility.
A little history…
My Great-Aunt Grayce and Uncle Mark bought this Airstream Tradewind Land Yacht brand-new in 1959. They traveled all over the U.S. with it, then spent summers in it at Mille Lacs Lake for many more years. My mother inherited it in the 1990s. When Mom passed away in 2022, I inherited the beloved family Airstream. Now I have two of them. (My husband and I loved this Airstream so much that we decided to buy one of our own in 2014.)
When shopping for a vintage Airstream, what’s the dealbreaker? It’s dry rot under the bathroom. After Mom inherited the family Airstream, her engineer husband found the telltale signs of rot. What he thought would be a weekend repair turned into a five-year rebuild. He ended up tearing the Airstream down to the frame. Five long summers without camping in the Airstream.
If you’ve been watching the market for one of these Mid-Century works of art, no doubt you’ve run across vintage Airstreams with phenomenal price tags. But ask yourself — do you have the time, space, tools, know-how, and PATIENCE to complete a full-blown restoration? This Airstream is solid, safe, fully functional, and ready to roll!
While keeping the vintage look and feel of the original Airstream, he brought it into this century with things like a power jack and stabilizers (making it easy to hitch up), and air conditioning.
All this work, as follows, has been done for you by an expert.
