This was a ONE OWNER Airstream from 1965 til I purchased it late last year. Also, the (90 year old) original owner was a retired Mechanical Engineering Professor- the exact type of person you want to purchase a vintage Airstream from. He took meticulous care of it and kept meticulous records. When we went to his bank the bank employee was surprised to see the original title.
When I purchased it, I made the following modifications/updates:
* Removed flooring and installed new wood laminate.
* Painted entire interior.
* Replaced old countertops with translucent white granite countertops.
Otherwise it is as I purchased it. The A/C had been updated a few years before I purchased it and original owner had added a second breaker box. I have kept the Airstream on some land I’ve owned in East Texas for the last 10 months or so…but we haven’t been able to use it as much as we hoped and just found out we’re expecting another baby soon which means we will be using it even less. Our loss is your gain.
Please feel free to ask any questions. I am by no means an expert. Everything was working last time I checked a couple months ago.
