We bought the trailer in about 2015 and did a major reno on it, not a restoration to the original.
All appliances were replaced with new ones: AC, fridge, stove, HW Tank, heater, etc
The copper plumbing had frozen so I replaced all of it with pex including the water pump and fresh water tank. The Airstreams of that vintage did not have grey water tanks so I added a 22 gallon one and it has a separate 2″ line for dumping.
The propane lines, tanks and reg were replaced and those were done by a licensed gas fitter.
The entire undercarriage – both axles, were replaced including electric brakes and wiring.
All flooring was removed and new plywood was added where necessary and I installed new vinyl flooring.
The interior is a barn theme with owl fabric, barn wood floor and rough hewn fence wood countertop trim.
The original toilet had been replaced before I got it so that was left as is.
I replaced the manual jack with an electric one.
There is a WiFi extender and a 100W solar panel on the roof and a 750W inverter. You plug the trailer into the inverter manually when needed just as you would plug the power line into shore power.
Possible flaws: The awning is still quite functional but could be replaced in a few years. There are 2 dents: one in the upper right rear corner and scratches near the front on the right side. I can send photos on request. The battery has 2-3 years left. The tires were new in 2021. The spare is good but only as a spare.
The bed is extremely comfortable – Custom 2 density 6″ foam with a 3″ memory foam.
We can include everything making it ‘turn-key’: utensils, cutlery, BBQ, linens, trailer hitch w/ anti-sway bars, etc. Just add groceries and go. We have spent 3 months driving across Canada, 6 week trip to Alaska and multiple 6 week trips to Utah and California.
