Freshly completed full resto-mod. We originally purchased this Airstream with the intention of restoring it to live in full-time, year-round. It quickly became an engineering, artistic, creative craftsmanship obsession, and we had so much fun doing it that we’ve decided to let it go & start another one! As such, it was meticulously designed for four seasonal living, is off-grid equipped, and is ready for a fresh life of adventures on the road, as a “tiny home”, an “AirBnB” or whatever you can imagine for it!

Our dream for “Dreamlander” was to see her live her days in the desert. As such, we leaned heavily into old world southwestern “adobe” styling, with touches of native symbolism throughout. As much of the original exterior patina was kept as could be, along with original interior skins & a few accent features.

This project was a full-monty, here are some details, with walkthrough video links and the entire build write-up available in link at end of listing:

– Tiger Foam Closed Cell Spray-foam (R-Value of R7 per inch (so roughly R9-11) was applied between 1.25-1.85″ thick. The wiring was attached to the shell with over 600 adhesive tabs for a flush fit, and was spray-foamed over. The theories with Sprayfoam besides the high r-value, is that it cannot hold moisture, mold, mildew, etc. It could also be considered helpful structurally, is a great sound insulator, among other benefits.
– Layer of Reflectix between Sprayfoam & interior skin as a fantastic reflective air bubble barrier
– Each rib/brace covered with foam-tape as a skin-rib-skin heat transfer barrier
