Jolene’s Story

We purchased Jolene from her second owner, a creative professional who had a unique and temporary vision for it. She named the trailer after Dolly Parton’s iconic 1974 hit, “Jolene.”

Before that, Jolene spent more than four decades with her original owner, who maintained her exceptionally well and I believe used her primarily as a hunting retreat. The last owner replaced the floor, while much of the original interior structure was preserved because it remained in such remarkable condition. It even appears that the oven and air conditioner saw little to no use.

Over the last four years, our family has created many memories with Jolene—camping with grandparents, cousins, and friends; boondocking on rafting trips; mountain biking adventures; and exploring Colorado destinations including Estes Park, Camp Hale, Palisade, and the Western Slope.

We most recently camped in Jolene this past weekend. With newly installed axles and tires, she towed beautifully and performed exactly as she should.

Now it’s time for the next owner to continue her story.

Why We’re Selling:

If our HOA allowed RVs on our property, we wouldn’t be selling her. Unfortunately, storing Jolene off-site has become expensive and inconvenient. With our son getting older and our schedules getting busier, we’re simply not using her as much as she deserves.

Things to Know:

Jolene is a 52-year-old vintage camper. She is not a brand-new RV, and the ideal owner should be comfortable handling occasional minor repairs and adjustments.

When we purchased her, she already had body damage on the driver’s-side panel and one wheel well, shown in the photos. The trailer functions well as-is, but someone looking for a cosmetic restoration project could certainly improve those areas further. We’ll include matching paint samples for any future touch-up.

The battery will likely need replacement in the near future.

An awning would be a beautiful finishing touch, as the awning channel is already in place.

Nothing is necessary to begin enjoying Jolene immediately—you could easily take her camping the day you pick her up.

One way I’ve always justified owning her: just two family trips can cost as much as the purchase price of the camper itself—except you still own it when you’re done.
