1976 Sovereign Airstream 31 ft
A complete gut and remodel done right in 2021 – we have a legal title in hand
• Shell removed from the frame
• Frame was professionally sandblasted and all new outriggers were professionally welded on
• Frame painted in with durable heavy duty industrial grade paint
• The belly was redone and rethought
• New gray, blank, and water tanks with new pex plumping and tank heaters and insulation applied
• The tanks all moved to under the kitchen/bathroom and in between axels for the best weight distribution and it tows like a dream – we traveled with it on 16-hour trips many times
• All new heavy-duty aluminum panels installed in the belly for a custom fit
• All new tires
• The floor is all new ¾” tongue and groove plywood with a free-floating commercial grade vinyl flooring that wraps the floor – meaning the shell was placed over the flooring to create the optimal protection of the plywood floor
• All new 12-volt/110-volt power center and wiring – a unique thoughtful rewiring performed so easy access to any wiring if needed in the future from the top (not in the belly of the airstream anymore)
• All double pane windows have been given new life –all removed, cleaned, polished, and reassembled with new seals and gaskets
• The original skins were reinstalled over new insulation and painted
• The bedroom was relocated to the rear with a queen mattress and lift installed to maximize the storage. All custom-built furnishers and cabinetry installed by an experienced carpenter
• The bathroom moved to the middle with a new ceramic toilet and thoughtfully designed to give as much space in the shower – even has a shower seat
• Bathroom barn door with latch
• The shell was stripped of its old yellowed clear coat
• The top of the roof has been sealed with Hy-Tech rubberized ceramic insulating paint. This provides waterproofing but also heat protection
• All of the original trim and lettering on the airstream remain but are painted with flat black enamel paint to give it a more modern look
• Original bummer installed for storage, LP tanks re-certified for 12 years, new LP tank lid
• New front rock guards custom built and installed
• All new appliances including the furnace and ductwork installed but an HVAC Journeyman
• New black and white awning installed

There was a letter from Laney to her boyfriend found in the camper. We remodeled this for our daughter but now her 6’5″ husband had a different plan for long-term living!
