I have owned this 1983 31ft Sovereign Airstream since 2009. My grandparents bought this trailer in the early 1990s and gave it to me in 2009. I have used the trailer about 4 times per year. In late 2019, I decided to remodel the entire trailer. I was tired of the old 1980s look. My goal was to finish the trailer by summer 2021 in order to go on a pre-planned Yellowstone trip. Well, life got in the way and the trailer was about 90% finished. My goal was to open the trailer up and make it more roomy.

I literally have every nut, bolt, and screw needed to finish the trailer. Unlike most “half finished” trailers, this one includes every item necessary to fully complete the restoration.

Interior:
I filled all holes in the interior walls then coated them with primer, Durabak bedliner, primer, then paint. The subfloor had two small spots with floor rot (no bigger than 18×12) which were also repaired before laying the LVT flooring. All lights inside and out have been replaced with LED lights. I built the cabinets using 1×2 boards instead of thicker plywood to keep the weight as minimal as possible. The cabinet doors and drawer fronts were ordered online and have yet to be installed. The original shower pan has been restored and is crack free. All plumbing lines have been replaced using Pex and copper valves. The water pump, pressure regulator, check valves and accumulator are brand new. There are no cracks or leaks in the black, gray and fresh water tanks. All propane lines have been professionally replaced or capped. The water heater was replaced in 2013. The original sofa bed has been reupholstered with Sunbrella fabric. The converter was replaced in 2020 along with the Optima Blue top batter that has been on a maintenance charger ever since. Included are custom made OceanAir roller shades (same as the ones installed in new Airstreams). The mattresses are custom made 12 inch memory foam and have never been used (bedding included as well).

Air Conditioning & Other:
Included is a brand new Coleman Mach 15 and Micro Air Easy Start. All parts necessary for installing the AC are included (gaskets, heater, distribution box, etc). The Fantastic fans were installed in 2013 (2 are on thermostats). The propane heater is original and has always worked properly. Also included is a Blue Ox Sway Pro hitch, LevelMate Pro, and Proven Industries hitch and coupler locks. The tires are brand new Goodyear Endurance with 0 miles.

Exterior:
The exterior is in great condition. There is no major body damage or dents on the trailer. There are a few small dents on the front end cap from most likely a hail storm years ago. The trailer has a large curbside awning, two street side awnings, and rear window awning (blue with white stripes). Currently, the trailer has no leaks. I have resealed all the windows (between the glass and the frame), installed new weatherstrips. There are no cracks in the windows. The bug screen are also new.

You will most likely not find an unfinished trailer in this type of condition with so many high quality parts. All parts needed to finish the build are included (literally everything). I have all the cabinet door hinges, light fixtures, wiring, drawer slides, etc. Included is a full roll of Formica and bullnose edging to be used on the kitchen countertops. Also included is a roll of aluminum, plywood, and 1×2 wood for the sofa base.

I am most likely forgetting to mention a lot of items on this trailer. The trailer has been stored indoors since 2014 and last used in 2017. I have always dreamed of remodeling this Airstream. It was very enjoying to spend weekends in 2020 learning to remodel this trailer. I am most proud of how the walls turned out. I spent weeks getting the interior walls the way I wanted them. I had all intentions of finishing it in time for a 2021 trip to Yellowstone, but I encountered a few setbacks and have lost interest.
