1987 32′ Excella, we are the third owners of this Classic Airstream Excella with a dinette (converts to a bed). This is our 4th (3 Excellas & a Limited) and as we went through the unit we focused on comfort, usability and reliability for travels we planned. We have enjoyed making memories in our travels around Georgia & Florida over the last couple of years. Since we purchased the Airstream, we have bought a place on the Florida Gulf and have a place on a Lake here in Georgia that takes up a lot of our time. As I said earlier, this is our 4th Airstream and we would absolutely be comfortable hooking up to this one and traveling anywhere you wanted to go. There is plenty of storage (hanging closet, drawers & overhead cabinets) and the appliances all work as intended (I actually don’t think that the stove or oven were hardly used as they look near new and work perfect). The refrigerator (120V /LP), microwave, Air Conditioner, water system, hot water heater & gas Furnace all work as intended. We also have numerous manuals & other documentation etc. in a 3ring notebook from the original owner.
The following list contains most of items that we have Installed/upgraded on this RV over the last 24 months:
• 4- Good Year Endurance Tires (they have traveled less than 1000 miles and have been protected from the sun with tire covers)
• 2 new 12V Batteries
• New 120-12V Converter (Progressive Dynamics PD9245CV-Inteli-Power), battery Charger/maintainer.
• New Electric tongue Jack (with cover)
• Replaced springs in all 4 Awnings
• Replaced tail lights with LED Bulbs
• Replace Front Door Light with new LED Fixture.
• LED lights in Bathroom Vanity
• Installed new Thetford china bowl toilet (taller than OEM)
• Replaced Bathroom Exhaust Fan (OEM Replacement)
• Installed 2 new Aero-Flo Roof Vent covers.
• Replaced all Carpet with LVT which looks great.
• Purchased and installed custom cushions for the Dinette.
• Installed Accent wall coverings (see photos) behind Dinette and kitchen sink.
• Replaced all original Wind Shades with Dometic OceanAir Shades ( over $1600)
• Replace All Ceiling lights with LED Fixtures
• Installed new LED Reading lights over Front Couch (Fold out Bed)
• Installed new adjustable Led reading Lights for Rear Bedroom Beds
• Mattresses were upgraded
• OEM overhead lights upgraded to LED bulbs
• Added new LED light Fixtures over Dinette table & Stove Top
• Conversion (Lightening Rod) hot water Heater to Electric/Gas
• Resealed roof fixtures with Dicor Self Leveling sealant (no leaks)
• Applied White Silicone Coating (20year rating) on the top section of roof to help with heat from the sun.
• Includes Reese Hitch with new Bar for tow vehicle receiver.
• Installed new break-away switch.
• Replaced Hooks on break-away chains
• New entry steps with Step Covers
• New Propane/LP Gas Alarm
• New Carbon Monoxide/ Fire & Smoke
• Wheel covers for sun protection for tires.
• Replaced 1 Leveler Jack on rear end.
This is not, nor intended to be a new unit, however as you can see from our list of things above, we have made a concerted effort to address the typical things that you would usually find needing repair, replacement or upgrading in a used unit. With the 32’ floor plan and the sleeping accommodations (rear twins, dinette bed(full) & Queen Couch bed up in main lounge) this unit is well suited for family travels and your memory making. Oh, and by the way I forgot to mention how well it tows…like an Airstream!
