2008 Airstream Safari Sport, 22 ft. Travel Trailer

We acquired this single-axle Bambi travel trailer in 2010 from a reseller in Utah. It came from a dealership in Georgia. Since bringing it to California, we have only gone on summertime local excursions lasting a few days, mostly “boondocking”, also known as dry camping (no full hook-ups). Our kids are grown and gone, and now it’s time for another family to take it home.

This “rolling home away from home” will sleep up to 4, and seat 6 at the table. The dinette and sofa both convert to sleeping areas. The size of the trailer is perfect for most campground sites, and tows really well with our truck. We found that using a tent and cots for the kids as they got older (so they could have their own private sleeping and hang out area) was most advantageous to everyone’s enjoyment of the trip. 😀

We just purchased a new Interstate RV Deep Cycle Battery, new Goodyear trailer tires, new wheel bearings, and serviced the brakes. This camper is in good original condition, with all systems in working order. A new combination smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector has been installed with 10 year battery life.

The compact kitchen is equipped with all original appliances including Dometic refrigerator, SMEV 2-burner gas stove, faucet, compact sink and adequate under-counter storage. The Tappan Convection / Grill / Microwave Oven is operational, but we only used it to make popcorn when we had hook-ups. We never used the air conditioning or heater on our trips, but they are functional. The bathroom is located near the entry door at the rear of the unit with a full shower, sink and toilet. There is a wardrobe cabinet for clothing and pantry storage, and additional storage for covered bins or luggage under the sofa along with the convenient overhead cabinets.

For your entertainment, bring DVDs for the small wall-mounted television. There is a Sony AM/FM Radio with CD Player and speakers built into the dinette overhead cabinet. You will need USB charging blocks for your cellular phones as there were no charging ports provided in this classic Airstream!

There are two propane tanks under the hitch cover. A hitch & propane tank cover with 12v solar charger for the battery was made for this. Also included are the equalizer sway control bars for a smoother and safer ride and the original Airstream owner’s manuals with briefcase. The California registration is paid through April 2024, and there is a clear title of ownership. This trailer is owned by a non-smoking family.

Airstreams are the pinnacle of trailer ownership, something people dream about and strive for, keeping them in the family for generations. This was our first, but will not be our last Airstream. It was a wonderful experience going camping with our kids, and something we all will never forget. The good memories will remain forever. This trailer needs a young active family to enjoy exploring, adventures, and family fun for now and in the future to come. WANDERLUST!!! Let the journey begin!
