We bought this unit in August 2010, lived in this unit despite Airstream’s advice not to do so.. since December 2010. First in Deerwood Rv Park, Goshen OR then built a site on the edge of the Willamette National Forest until 2022, electricity only, hauling water for gardening, drinking and cooking.
After evacuating the Holiday Farn Wildfire in 2020 we returned to find it miraculously intact 25 feet from the burnt edge of the fire. Our benefactors decided to leave the Forest
and settled on a small ranch in Creswell. I was beginning to rehab it into a rustic cabin.
(Airstream interior parts are crap!!!) I planned to put house quality fixtures in, that will actually stand up to full time living this past summer, but got hurt, with multiple recurring events that prevented me from doing anything. As I got back to walking my wife died suddenly and I lost my desire to live there anymore. It’s in good condition exterior wise BUT the interior needs TLC. It needs a total rehab but is livable right now in a MacGiver kind of way. Furnace needs service, Front door lock and screen door replaced- I have the frame, Damned Wolfhound!) main awning got dumped in a surprise snow storm. The works are on the roof secured) AC works, Fridge needs compressor, new toilet, magic fan and bathroom vents plus new flooring. plumbing works but we went with a basic composting system; living on fixed income, the black and graydumps every three to four weeks are expen . My wolfhound broke the door lock but It’s padlocked for now. Still living in it, It’s almost paid off but I need to go live with family in AZ. I will include most of the rustic benches and table seen and will update the featured photo of the new cabin paint scheme. I will be living in it until approximately mid November for a scheduled heart procedure then will vacate as soon as it’s sold. It’s served us “MacGyvers” well. We had fun living a “1940-50’’s lifestyle dealing with the challenges ,carrying water for gardening for food and pollinators, rescuing and caring for our horses and dogs! It’s livable right now if needs be or….you can turn it into your ship of dreams exactly, however, you’d like it to be!
Maybe a portable disco or a fine dining establishment!!
