Planning a trip to Yellowstone National Park? Check. Road trip down the Pacific Coast Highway? Check. Quick day trip to the beach, but want access to a heated outdoor shower to rinse off before heading back home? Check. Long drive to pretty much anywhere, but want quick access to a restroom, full kitchen, microwave/convection oven, refrigerator, shower, queen sized bed, while at the same time you want a vehicle that is easily maneuverable in city traffic, a turbo diesel engine powerful enough to tow an additional 5000 pounds, compact enough to be allowed onto the Pacific Coast Highway, and luxurious enough to not miss the creature comforts of home? Check. Oh, and you also want great gas mileage with a diesel engine? Check that too.
This is the most sought after camper van on the market for all the above reasons, plus more.
I have also installed 400 watts of solar perfectly mated to TWO Lifeline AGM batteries so that you can truly be “off the grid.” All of the solar panels and other electrical component upgrades were done by the legendary and master electrician, Lew Farber, the owner of Solar Tech Energy Systems. The world of RV solar is fairly small, and Lew Farber is definitely one of the most recognized names in the RV industry for his quality work and knowledge in solar power available for Airstream. The solar upgrade cost $9945, and is an absolute MUST if you plan on traveling without any restrictions with this RV. Solar means that you do NOT need to hook up to an external power source for several days.
But what if you find yourself in an area without any sunlight? No problem. The RV also comes equipped with a 2.5kW Onan generator that runs on liquid propane. This allows you to run the RV without shore power or sunlight, while simultaneously recharging your coach batteries. As long as you’ve got enough propane and/or sunlight, you should be able to go “off the grid” for an extended period of time.
The other features of this Airstream RV include: 6 gallon water heater, 13,500 BTU air conditioner, 16,000 BTU furnace, 3.1 cubic refrigerator 12 volt/110 volt , 1.2 cubic Microwave/Convection oven, 2 burner cook top used just once!
This Airstream has seatbelts for 9, and can transport 9 people easily. There are TWO high definition televisions, so there should never be a conflict on what to watch. Connect your iPhone with the lightning to the HDMI ready adapter to cast your favorite shows onto the monitors. There is also a CD player in the front TV.
This RV also has a 26 gallon fresh water tank, 27 gallon grey water tank, and a 15 gallon black water tank. If you have any reservations about emptying the black and grey water tanks, this Mercedes Benz Airstream has made it extremely simple and clean. Simply turn the switch for the Macerator pump, and all of the waste is pumped out for you. The hoses are all electronically retracted back into the RV, making this a hassle free experience.
The motorized awning is easy to set up, and provides ample shade for sitting around the campfire roasting s’mores!
This Airstream has been meticulously owned and maintained. All maintenance has been done by the Airstream Dealership, Airstream Adventures Northwest, which is located in Gladstone, OR / Mercedes Benz of Sacramento. It has always been properly winterized, walbernized, and detailed by them. All of the engine maintenance has been done at the Mercedes Benz dealership.
Included are: 2 custom front window covers that are insulated/blackout (purchased from Etsy) – these are great and have magnets around the perimeter for a great seal. Also comes with the front windshield reflective sun shade, and the original ‘curtain’ that separates the front captain’s chairs from the rear cabin. There is a single pole that has a tabletop, which can be placed in the front cabin (rotate the front 2 captain’s chairs to face the rear of the cabin), or place it in the rear so people can sit around the back bench and 2 side chairs (5 people). Also included are all the water hoses, electric cord/multiple adapters/surge protector.
Contact Seller
Consider these tips in order to send or receive payment safely.
Know the vehicle’s market value
Be very suspicious of any vehicle priced significantly below market value. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Confirm contact information
Verify the seller’s physical address and phone number BEFORE SENDING PAYMENT. Zip codes, area codes and addresses should match up.
Use email wisely
Do not send personal or financial information (such as your social security number, credit card number or checking account number) to a seller via email. Email communications are not secure.
Do not use money transfer services, such as Western Union to pay for online purchases
Even Western Union recommends against using their service or similar services to pay for online purchases. Be cautious about any seller who will only accept a money transfer.
If using an escrow service for payment, make sure it is a reputable, valid escrow service
Some buyers, purchasing outside their local area, may consider using an escrow service. If so, make sure it is a legitimate service. Go directly to the website of the escrow service. Do NOT go to an escrow service through a link in the seller’s e-mail or use a service based on a referral from the seller. Check the web address to make sure you are at the valid website.
Get a detailed receipt
Ask the seller for a receipt that states whether the Airstream is being sold with a warranty or “as is.”
Get title to the vehicle
Make sure you know what’s required in your state to transfer title to the vehicle you’re buying.
Confirm contact information
Be wary of buyers willing to purchase your item sight-unseen, especially buyers located overseas. Always verify the buyer’s street address and valid phone number.
Verify that a certified check is genuine
Verify authenticity with the issuing bank prior to depositing a certified check. Make sure the account contains sufficient funds and the issuing bank guarantees payment on the check. Once deposited in your account, it may take a week or more for the check to clear. Acceptance by your bank does not guarantee the check is valid and funds are available. A cashier’s check can take 30 days or more to clear.
Secure payment first
Do not transfer the title until you have payment in hand at the agreed upon price (and you have verified that the payment is valid.
Beware of overpayment or other complicated payment schemes
Do not agree to any plan where the buyer asks to send a check for more than the sale price and requests that the seller refund the difference. Be suspicious of any buyer who proposes making payment through a friend or agent of the buyer.
File a report. File a report at www.ic3.gov with the Internet Crime Complaint Center, a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and the Bureau of Justice Administration (BJA). IC3 gives victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism. IC3 in turn alerts authorities by referring reports to the correct law enforcement or regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local and international level.
