2013 Airstream Interstate 3500 Extend – 3.0 Liter Turbo V-6 Diesel

We are selling our wonderful Airstream Interstate because we are taking a couple years off then buying another someday in the future. What a great vehicle this has been to escape in during this whole covid crisis. It is completely contained and is perfect for two people who like to dry camp or hook up at a campground. Very easy to use and easy to drive. We are the second owner and we have title in hand. We bought it a little under four years ago with 6400 miles. Today it has 28,000 miles. This vehicle has traveled only the Western part of the United States since being built in Ohio.

This vehicle has only been professionally serviced and maintained. For those of you new to this class of Mercedes Sprinter Vans, there has been a recall on the wheel speed sensors – all sensors have been replaced and there is a 10 year, no mileage limitation warranty regardless of ownership. In addition, all exhaust system modifications as it relates to the Emissions Litigation have been completed. This “AEM” (Approved Emission Modification) also came with a 11 year/122k mile warranty that covers the exhaust system regardless of ownership. All paperwork is in hand for these issues and routine maintenance.

One of the best parts of this van is its flexibility. Easy in and easy out of wherever you are camping. Whether its in a Wal-Mart parking lot or a campsite, you can be on the road in just a few minutes of securing the vehicle. We normally traveled with the queen size bed down where my wife would work while I drive. You still have easy access to the cupboards and to the bathroom. The back seat converts to a bed automatically and we simply toss our rolled up mattress on top, tuck in the sheets and blanket and you have a fun movie night ahead. There is a TV in the back and in the front where I sometimes watch a movie. There is a two burner stove which is all we needed to cook – operates by gas like a camping stove. The sink works great with hot and cold water at all times. There is small fridge and oven. The oven was maybe used once. The fridge as we later learned is plenty big because you don’t need to pack everything. You’ll be getting stuff on the road and replenishing as you go so its a real nice size. The bathroom works great for us, just roomy enough. She likes to use the shower as well but I will utilize a campground shower if its available. Sometimes we’ll have guests for a glass of wine and the front captain seats will turn around to face the second row seats. Place the removable table in the middle and you have a party.

The van comes with a generator. There is under 100 hours on this generator. It uses propane gas and starts with a flick of a switch and a push of a button. Its not quiet but it will easily run all your utilities if your battery is getting low. Two fairly new batteries work great! The generator comes in handy when dry camping and you need a quick charge or get the heater or air conditioner going. Otherwise its rarely used as the battery can last for a couple days depending on your energy usage. This van does have satellite dish and is prewired but we never used it. We were able to get whatever movie or internet service via our computers. The air conditioner kept us cool in 100 degree heat in Leavenworth one weekend.

The dirty job is really not that dirty. Everyone is scared about handling the flushing of the black and grey water but Airstream has made this extremely easy. I roll up to a dumping station, unlock the small door, roll out the hose about 5 feet and turn the knob. From there its automatic: Open the black tank, turn the motor on, and out it goes. Close the black tank, open the grey tank, turn the motor on and out it goes. Turn the motor off, close the grey tank, flip the hose knob, and the hose will automatically wind back in. Very easy and quick. Once of my biggest fears was the van smelling. It’s a little pet peeve of mine that post every trip, the van is clear of black and grey water. No smelly bathroom in this van! It is also meticulously cleaned and sanitized after each trip! Just part of my nature.

This last year we carried our Vespa on the back and utilized it to skirt around town or just have fun with. The Hitch holds 500lbs and it can tow up to 5000lbs though we never did tow anything. On the exterior is an outside shower or dog washer. The propane gas is filled up through a attachment. You can also hook up an outside grill to this. There are outlets on the outside as well as the wonderful awning. We used this all the time and it worked great to block the sun! The tires are original but probably have 10k more miles on them.

Okay, there you have it! So much more to list and half the fun is finding and figuring out how everything operates. Airstream is top quality and the ride in this thing is so comfortable.

The price is $101,000 – Firm. No haggling as this price is well under everything out in the marketplace. We are ready to pass this on to the next adventurer(s).

Thank you
