2016 AIRSTREAM FLYING CLOUD 26U
This is our third Airstream, and we have loved the experience, but it has become clear to us that it’s time to pack up and move on. Meticulously cared for inside and out. Recently, George Hernandez of Custom RV checked all the mechanicals, and rated them in perfect condition. The 26U is known for its spacious U-shaped dinette which converts into a king-size bed, and a queen-sized rear bedroom. It features a well-equipped kitchen, a full bathroom, and ample storage throughout.

Additions to the stock unit:

200-watt thin-film solar panel with a Blue Sky 3000 MPPT controller (the best on the market). With conversion to 6-volt batteries, wired in series, this configuration produces high amperage, which is always more than needed.

Voyager rearview camera with monitor in tow vehicle makes towing easier and safer.

Dickinson stainless steel, two-pipe chimney heater/fireplace is quiet and very safe. The fireplace effect is efficient and pleasant to view. Airstream’s stock furnace is efficient, but can be noisy.

WeBoost, a cell phone signal amplifier. Works well with Roku.

Other additions:

Surge protection, Hubometer, Rock Tamers, Weight distribution, Equalizer hitch and sway bars, hoses, water pressure controls and tank emptying equipment.

Large patio carpet.

Large (2’x2’x4′) aluminum tool box loaded with things you need for a successful camp out. I carry this box at the tail end of the bed of my tow vehicle.

When new, our trailer came with a dining table that was the incorrect size; it fell through the space that it should span to make the bed. Jackson Center sent a new one, told me to keep the other. We redesigned the table to make it easier to reach the overhead cabinets, also used the extra material to make four additional shelves in the kitchen area. See photos.
