Lightly used Basecamp 16 for sale. My grandchildren love camping with me so much that I must buy a slightly bigger Airstream.
The Basecamp was the perfect entry level trailer for me to learn how to tow and use the trailer. I am a 72 year old grandmother and I was not really sure I could do it! She tows like a dream behind my Volvo XC because I added the anti sway package, electric brake controller and electric winch. A breeze to hook up and disconnect. I look like a pro after a bit of practicing. I have an airstream power tongue jack.EZ lift system.
It is a sweet little model with everything intact. One of the best things is the solar panels…..I could camp for days without ever plugging into the grid. Air conditioner is useful when you cannot find shade but that of course will require plugging in. There are 2-100 watt, 30 amp solar panels on the roof. They were an upgrade.
They charge 2-AGM deep cycle batteries when off grid, when hydro is not available.
I modified the bed so that it could be used in a 3/4 position when I was on my own with the dog – that way I could have one table set up and still be able to sleep comfortably.
Head room is great and I am tall.
After attending just one Airstream with other air streamers in my area (eastern ontario) I learned so much that I cannot wait to go on the road next year.
My airstream is stored at Can-Am RV in London, Ontario for the winter. The owners and staff are the best. They answer all your questions and are always available should you need support.
