❤️ We absolutely LOVE this camper, and it’s hard to let it go. We’re just eager to try van life. Yeah, we’re probably crazy.

This is Airstream’s best floor plan. There is massive storage, the queen bed is a walk-around for easy access, the kitchen has tons of prep space, the large fridge includes a separate freezer, the living space is roomy, and you can sit at the rear dinette and look out the panoramic rear windows while backed up to prime views.

The camper has a 3.5” lift that cost $1,500 installed (helps avoid butt drags down steep driveway ramps). New Goodyear Endurance tires ($1,100) were installed in 2020.

❄️ This particular model has ducted air conditioning, which is MUCH quieter than an AC unit that penetrates the roof. We have one AC, two skylights, and two Fantastic Fans with rain covers.

Compared to the Flying Cloud, the International has upgraded lighting, plumbing fixtures, counter surfaces, cabinets, Ultraleather seating surfaces, and the full awning package (three awnings).

🌞 We purchased a top of the line solar system kit from AM Solar and installed it ourselves January 2021. You can go off-grid indefinitely and power high-draw appliances like a blender, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, Instant Pot, etc.

The charge controller, batteries, and inverter are all installed in the front storage locker under the bed. We obsessively designed the layout to take up as little storage space as possible—two-thirds of the front locker is still available for storage (or more batteries).

Cables are hidden inside the trailer by routing under the floor and cabinets. This took a lot more time, but makes for a cleaner installation. The only thing visible is an aluminum conduit along the wall in the bedroom.

💰 The parts alone for the solar installation cost over $7,000. The labor to install a system of this caliber is $6,000 or more, depending on who you have do the job. All in, you’re looking at a minimum $13,000 installed cost. On top of that, every solar installer we are aware of is booked out by at least three months.

Inverter is wired directly to the AC distribution panel. This means all AC outlets are live when inverter is on, not just the three badly-placed inverter outlets that Airstream installs at the factory.

📞 We also concealed the data and power cables for the WeBoost RV 65 cell booster. The indoor antenna is in the back of the trailer, and the booster is inside the front storage locker. The signal from the outdoor antenna reaches the booster via a flat cable that can enter the trailer through the closed locker door.

👉 Overall this Airstream is in fantastic shape. We absolutely love it and care for it meticulously. We Walbernize the exterior multiple times per year, and deep clean the interior regularly. Every time we give someone a tour, they are surprised that it’s a 2015 model, not newer.

There is some light surface corrosion on the chrome of the rear bumper and on the trim around the windows. It’s not something that you notice unless you’re looking for it, and has no effect on the integrity of the metal. There are the usual stone dents on the front of the trailer, mostly in the stone guards.

One of the tires appears to be wearing more on the outer edge than the inner edge. This likely means the camber needs to be modified by adjusting the axle.

No rust or water damage that we have seen—and we are constantly above, in, and below this camper!

A few small scratches here and there in the aluminum skin, but you have to hunt for them and we wouldn’t even know where to find them. Absolutely no “pin-striping” from dragging the trailer against brush, tree branches, etc. We are careful to avoid those situations, and when towing down dirt roads we go 5 mph (unlike everyone else we see hauling a**).
