My wife and I were building our Airstream to serve as our retirement vacation home. However, as I am always ready to try a new adventure, we have decided to downsize in a way that will allow us to take part in the overlanding community out west. This will look something like a 24’ Mercedes chassis cab custom camper box towing a Ford Bronco. We will undoubtedly miss our Airstream but more importantly, we will miss the Airstream community. For that, we reserve the possibility of picking up a used 16’ Airstream Basecamp to be able to continue to take part in the community.

If interested, the 2020 Ram 2500 Larmie Crew Cab 6.4L tow vehicle is also available. It is listed for $45,000 but if purchased with the Airstream I will drop the price to $42,000. Included with the truck is the Smartcap EVO Adventure, including the drawer bin drivers’ side, full bin passenger side, & StowAway table (an awesome addition). The cap setup sells for $6480. The Airstream comes with the hitch setup which is already configured for this truck. Also included with the Airstream is the TPMS kit and the Haloview camera / monitor system. Both systems are also setup in this truck. The truck has 60,000 miles on it and has two years remaining on the full Mopar extended warranty that is transferable.

We thoroughly enjoyed setting up the Airstream to function like it is on shore power even when it is not. Brewing a pot of coffee at a rest stop or cooling off the unit at bedtime while staying in a Harvest Host are just a small sample of what having power independence will get you.

The hitch gear is included should you want it. This was the first year the Globetrotter had the composite floor, so no worries about a rotting floor down the road. In late 2025 we had the grey/black tanks professionally flushed by Kleen Tank and now follow their protocol for keeping the tanks fresh.

2026 Upgrades
Performed by Andy Thompson’s crew at Can-Am RV of London Ontario. Andy is renowned for setting up hitches for travel trailers. This dealership has a long-standing history as a top-performing Airstream retailer and was officially named the Top Overall Dealer in Canada by Airstream, Inc. for 2020.
o Hitch setup adjustments
o New Tires: Toyo Open Country H/T II 235/75R15. These tires will not age out like RV tires and should easily last seven to ten years
o Washed & Waxed
o Installed Airkrafters nLET: Redesigned city water inlet that offers a solution to the failure-prone plastic factory equipped fixture. Durable cast 304 stainless steel construction with polished mirror surface finish, machined mechanical features, integrated stainless steel quick connect fitting, directional check valve, gasket, and tethered travel cap.
o Also had service performed: Checked caulking on roof and checked the brakes, all good.
o (2025) Had installed a Truma AquaGo Comfort tankless water heater. 2021 was the first year Airstream moved to the tankless water heater for the Globetrotter. It was awful. The Truma is far superior in every way. We love it!

o Installed outlet near dump valve to power portable RV Waste Pump Flojet. This allows you to pump/macerate the black/grey tanks through a garden hose when necessary to increase pump out options. In a pinch, you could pump out to a toilet, or pump directly into a blue boy sitting in the truck bed.
o Wired a spare pump to plug in at the a-frame to be able to pump water from a water bladder into the fresh tank so as not to have to move the Airstream to refill the fresh tank. The pump used is the same as Airstream uses internally, effectively providing a spare pump in a pinch. The pump and water bladder are included.

Additional Upgrades
o Twin bed mattress support structures built by my brother. A knock on the twin bed setup is not having any support under the edge of the mattress. This is extremely annoying when sitting on the edge of the bed. These supports remedy that situation and have a finished edge to match the bed frame.
o Airkrafters erPOD’s: These are beautiful vent covers for the ducted AC/heat strip. The stock vent covers are very restrictive making the AC work too hard with poor results.
o Teak shower mat
o Snap pads for stabilizers and RV jack
o Propane auto shutoffs making it safe to tow with propane turned on
o Airboards above propane storage shelf
o Airboards step brace

o Single tabletop from the previous years Globetrotter. While the new two-piece tabletop is a great in concept, its design left much to be desired.
